Oh Christmas Tree.....

T'was a few weeks before Christmas
And we needed a tree,
So we set off down the hillside,
Us roomies, we three.

The night it was freezing
And the locals drove past,
So we stealthily hid,
We would have to work fast.

The tree was in sight,
"Get that one!" said Scott.
But the trunk was too thick,
An axe, we had not.

But a cleaver we did have,
So Luke dove in and hacked.
It splintered and buckled
And finally snapped!

We lugged our tree homewards,
We three hand in hand,
Then a local drove past
So we ran and we ran.

We dragged it up stairwells,
We dragged it up halls,
Then we came to our home
And we stood the tree tall.

And drunk on our skill,
We set up our prize.
We admired our tree
With delight in our eyes.

We hung it with trinkets,
With paper and tape.
A beer can for an angel
Oh yeah! It looks great!

And we danced and we cheered
As we sighed at the sight....
Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a good night :)

From Sea to Sky....

S
till can't believe I'm here!!!!!!

Wish I had more photos to post but it's so frikkin freezing that I rarely have my camera out. It's hard to believe I've only been here for a week. From swelteringly hot beach to below freezing! This is awesome!!!

I'm in Fernie now :) and it's an amazing town. Friendly locals and friendly travellers. The place has a gorgeous home town feel and I'm sooooo stoked that it will be my home for the next few months.

If you're wondering where Fernie is ..... it's in the Rocky Mountains South of Banff and quite close to the border of Alberta and British Columbia. It's a pretty small town of about 5000 locals but stretches to about 9000 in the ski season.

Today is opening day on the hill and yes, that's right, I'm not up there. Lame ey!! I have found a house with some ski instructors though so very soon I will have my own pair of special precious boots and hopefully be learned enough to remain upright whilst plummeting at high speeds down the hill!!!!!

This is VERY exciting!! New people, new place, new experiences ..... loving Fernie more every second xoxo :)
